Biography

Fateh Jebara was born in Aleppo, Syria and now lives and works in NJ, USA. He was trained in the Visual Arts Academy in Aleppo prior to his immigration to the US in 1985. His family started a business a traditional fabric dies, and manufacturing in 1850 by his grand grandfather in the city of Aleppo which was known for its historic position linking the East with Europe as a hub center in the Silk Road route. He was exposed in his youth to the art of fabric dies and garment design which he played a pivotal role in the family’s business success and distribution to Middle Eastern merchants and department stores.

Jebara set up shop in New York City garment district from 1986 to 2015. He applied his design and fabric dies skill to create well known fashion design jeans, shirts, and women handbags. His work is influenced by data movement with emphasis on form, color, and light to create many well-know fashion brands including Alpha Garment, Jeans, and Pacosport brands.  His company distributed the fashion inventory to several well-known US department stores.

Jebara paints full time in his New Jersey studio since 2015 and created a collection of contemporary paintings that plays on abstract motifs and representational elements.
