Biography
Mabelin (Mabela) Castellanos is an American born in Cuba. A self-taught artist living and working in Miami Beach, Florida. She was a scientist for more than thirty years and loved every minute of it. In 2015 her career ended due to neurological issues. It was a long recovery and creating art played an enormous part in her healing process. She quilts snapshots of everyday scenes. The colors and patterns of the fabric pieces often give inspiration for what she draws on top of them. Her work has an excellent reception, which made her known to the art community and made possible to exhibit at art galleries and museums across the country.
