Art & Design group exhibit
Fill out the Google form and submit it as soon as possible, or contact the gallery directly if you are interested and have questions.
Thank you for your interest in participating in a group exhibition, “Contemporary Art & Design.” We wish you luck in your professional and artistic endeavors and cannot wait to see your latest work. We will be inviting interior designers, architects, and the community to attend and see the exhibit during the month. We also promote the exhibit, artists, and designers online, and through our email distribution, as well as in the New Jersey lifestyle magazines, for more exposure.
A contemporary art and design gallery showcases various creative works, including visual arts (such as painting, sculpture, and multidisciplinary works) and design disciplines like functional object designs. The gallery is professionally operated with a curator and director, and is currently seeking to expand an artist roster for a cooperative gallery program located in East Hanover, NJ, in the prestigious Morris County, home to the Northeast’s most affluent communities, connected with a direct train to New York City.
The gallery focuses on expressing ideas and solving problems through visual communication. It combines elements such as line, shape, space, color, and materials along with principles like balance and harmony to achieve visually compelling and functional outcomes.
The gallery offers a program that includes both group and solo exhibitions. The first group exhibit entitled “Contemporary Art & Design” will open on June 26, 2025, and it features a selection of artists and designers. The 2nd group show will be from September 18 – October 18, and solo shows are scheduled for 2025-2026. The group exhibits present an opportunity for artists to be represented by the gallery. Accepted artists will be notified of a date to ship or drop off the selected pieces.
Unlike other cooperative galleries, our artists are not required to have marketing knowledge or write press releases; we want them to concentrate on their art and leave the day-to-day marketing and promotions to our experienced professionals.
This distinction is important as the gallery employs dynamic marketing strategies, including advertising, email campaigns, and social media efforts, to showcase the artists’ work to potential clients and arts institutions.
The benefits of becoming a gallery artist are based on two levels:
1- Full Artist Representation
– One solo show and one curated group exhibition per year, and ongoing promotion of the artist and artworks.
– Artist profile page on gallery website.
– A professional promotion in marketing, advertising, email campaign, and social media program.
– Solo shows and group exhibits can be seen virtually on the gallery website.
– Khawam gallery membership with the New Art Dealers Alliance (NADA).
2- Associate Artist Representation
– Two curated group exhibitions per year and ongoing promotion of the artist and artworks.
– Artist profile page on gallery website.
– A professional promotion in marketing, email campaign, and social media program.
– All group exhibits can be seen virtually on the gallery website.
The gallery has participated in several national Art Fairs since 2017 and encourages artists’ participation, but optional for selected artists who require an art fair fee (e.g., Context Art Miami, Untitled Miami Beach, Art Palm Beach + Contemporary, NADA, and The Armory Show, NYC).
Application Requirements: Visual artists and functional objects designers are to send the gallery email with links to the artist’s website and Instagram of their work.
Curator looks for:
1. Artistic Excellence: compelling work with a distinct voice and vision.
2. Evidence of Commitment: Resume showing a history of active engagement in a studio practice of creating artwork and presenting it publicly in exhibitions and fairs. We encourage artists to include News media and online articles about the artist or exhibitions.
4. Engagement: The artist has the option to engage with the Khawam gallery community and the general public through show visits and community programming, such as an artist talk.
Khawam Gallery is committed to diversity, equity, inclusion, and fostering mutual respect for all individuals and groups’ diverse beliefs and values regardless of age, sex, race, or ability. The gallery will not discriminate on these grounds and encourages all emerging and established artists who would benefit from this program to apply.
