ARTIST STATEMENT

Rami Sabour work evolved over the past 8 years from an expressionist landscape painter to a semi-abstract inspired by landscapes and classical music. The recent work are direct link with harmonic and symphonic rythem articulated by the use of heavy pigment of color scattered over the canvas to suggest, trees, rocks, water reflections and mountain ranges. Recent paintings grew more aggressive in he’s use of vibrant solid spots of color applied by artist knife to hold it’s color value against a distant horizon or mountain ranges that surrounded him in the Latakia region where he was born, continue to work and live and influences his painterly direction.
